What is TMAS

Clearly, everybody understands the need to alert the public when natural disasters occur like earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes; Utilizing mobile phones is the most efficient way to reach the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time. It is the one device that is carried by the greatest number of people and that number keeps increasing. T*MAS is also equally effective in saving lives after a disaster to inform the public on where to seek shelter, food, water and other essentials. T*MAS can be used for pandemic outbreaks, or even to notify the public on where to get their vaccinations. Traffic mishaps and the avoidance of those dangerous areas can be of a great benefit to the public. Civil unrest; there is no better way to let the trouble makers know that there will be consequences, at the same time letting the public know that you are on top of the situation.

The T*MAS is a specialized system intended for government agencies and law enforcement groups in order to send Mass SMS Messages in a specific area and provide information to its citizens on any upcoming events or emergency alerts. The T*MAS can send Short Message Service (SMS) to all the mobile phones within the reception area. No SIM card needed and will work with all GSM networks in the world. Since the Text Messaging Alert System does not need any SIM card to operate there will be no operating costs. Any alphanumeric symbol can be entered to appear as a sender (i.e. 911, EMERGENCY, HELP, Rescue etc).

Communications breakdowns will occur during any natural disaster. During a Disaster everyone will reach for their phones at once. The networks which still have cell sites operating will simply be overloaded on both the voice and the data side. Calls could not be made or received, calls will be dropped and SMS messages will not get through.

The T*MAS is a portable mobile, compact cell site (Compact GSM Base Unit (BTS) and is not network dependent. Thus the T*MAS will continue to operate even if all networks are down. The T*MAS can send SMS messages in specific geographic location and have an intelligent software for managing Emergency or Security Messages. The T*MAS can also locate survivors via their cell phones with a Direction Finder Module. The T*MAS can also served as a virtual private network.

Whenever a disaster/catastrophe happens, many emergency forces and rescue teams are deployed to the affected area and many rescue systems are activated. Rescue teams that might be from different organizations and countries needs to be able to communicate freely and easily between them self and preferred in a very intuitive way.

T*MAS system was especially designed as a disaster GSM emergency recovery kit and can be deployed in a very short time as an independent local GSM network. The main target of the system is to provide rescue forces GSM VPN infrastructure for use by all authorized personal.

Being portable and lightweight the system provides major GSM features available in commercial networks. The T*MAS system is a light, transportable, independent, GSM base station that can be activated and operated by a single user in very short time. Its design makes the TMAS ideal for the support of tactical communications, public safety, homeland security, rescue teams, commercial communication providers, and other defense communications applications.

Why TMAS

Natural Disasters
T*MAS can be effectively used to warn the public in cases of dangerous fires, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, floods, landslides and tsunamis... any inclement weather or natural disaster event that people need to be alerted of. When people need critical information there is no other alerting system that can get it to them as quickly and efficiently as T*MAS.

Medical Alerts
T*MAS is the most effective way of alerting the public of a possible medical emergency as well as alerting them to get their H1N1 Influenza vaccines. Any medical or health emergency will be lessened by the alerting technology of T*MAS.

Aftermath Alerts
After every natural disaster the need to alert people as to where to go to find water, food and shelter is paramount. Sometimes more deaths and injuries occur after a natural disaster than they do during the disaster. T*MAS is vital after every natural disaster.

First Responders
First Responders face a variety of emergencies for which they require the public's immediate notification. These can be events such as massive traffic accidents, hazardous material spills, forest fires, or any number of other emergencies which they encounter from time to time. First Responders quickly need the public's cooperation so that they may perform the dangerous task at hand and keep people out of harm's way.

Security Alerts
T*MAS can be utilized to enhance security at Airports, Port Authority, Border Crossing, Customs and Law Enforcement personnel. Authorized Users will have access to a modifiable database of cellular numbers for personnel tasked with security at high profile locations, (i.e. Airports), or special events, (Soccer events).

T*MAS LOCATION BASED ALERTS

The T*MAS system is location based. Systems that utilize the consumers' postal codes or other subscriber information end up sending alerts to people outside of the target area and missing the people who need the alert the most.

T*MAS is capable of continuing to alert new mobile phones that come into the target area without re-alerting the initial recipients. Sometimes alerting events can be a lasting exercise, such as a chemical spill or a traffic accident. The T*MAS systems not only alerts everyone in the target area at the time the alert is initiated, but the operator can choose a time frame for which the system will continue to alert those who travel into the danger zone. We call this persistent alerting.

T*MAS TARGET AREA

T*MAS is capable of hitting 99% of mobile phones in the alert area. This is first and foremost. It should definitely work with any handset in the network from the "smartest" to the most basic pre-paid model. T*MAS is capable of hitting in-country roamers as well as international visitors. The T*MAS system hits everyone in the targeted area regardless of where their home service is provided from.

A system that is dependent upon a certain version of handset, the latest technology, or where their home service is provided from would be extremely discriminatory on who can actually receive alerts. You don't want a system that hits some phones and not others. The public will become outraged that some people's lives were saved because they were notified and others were not.

The T*MAS system is geo-graphically targetable, from a rural village, to a beach resort, to a metropolitan city. Alerts need to be delivered to those individuals in the affected area. If you're sending alerts to people who don't need them, you run the risk of the public becoming de-sensitized to their importance.
